Overview & Highlights

Nestled on the serene shores of Roberts Lake in Rohnert Park, Waterhawk Lake Club offers a delightful dining experience that beautifully marries fresh, seasonal California cuisine with stunning waterfront views. This restaurant serves up an enticing menu that features an eclectic mix of starters, salads, pizzas, and hearty mains—perfectly crafted to satisfy both casual diners and culinary enthusiasts alike.

Begin your meal with appetizers that spark the palate: the Burrata with summer stonefruit, crunchy pistachios, and a luscious balsamic drizzle is a standout, offering a harmonious balance of creamy, sweet, and tangy flavors, accompanied by toasted bread for a satisfying crunch. The Chicory Salad dazzles with its blend of mixed fall chicories, poached pears, and a rich blue cheese dressing, accentuated by the toasty crunch of hazelnuts. For something classic and comforting, the French Fries come naked but are elevated with a creamy garlic aioli and a touch of ketchup, making them a perfect companion to share.

Delve into the mains that showcase the kitchen’s prowess and attention to detail. The Braised Short Rib, with its fennel crust, braised cabbage, and subtle sweetness from apples and cipollini onions, offers a deep, savory richness that melts in your mouth. The Chicken Sausage Pizza and Mushroom Pizza both radiate artisan quality—the latter featuring confit garlic, creamy teleme cheese, and fresh arugula for a delightful, herbaceous finish. The Baked Pasta and Roasted Salmon choices provide satisfying, hearty options that promise comforting textures and rich, layered flavors.

What truly elevates Waterhawk Lake Club beyond its delicious dishes is the relaxed lakeside atmosphere paired with attentive and friendly service. Guests frequently commend the welcoming vibe, perfect for everything from intimate dinners to lively large parties. Whether you’re seated indoors in a cozy, wood-accented space or outdoors on the expansive deck with a captivating view of the glistening lake, the ambiance is relaxed and inviting. The gentle sounds of live music and the charming quacking of local ducks create a laid-back, almost vacation-like mood that invites you to savor each bite and moment.

Customer reviews highlight the exceptional hospitality: servers like Anthony and others go out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience, switching drinks without fuss and managing large groups with ease. This level of care complements the overall quality of the food and the rustic yet refined setting. Some guests mention the need for a bit more seasoning or shade on the deck, but these minor details do little to detract from the overall charm and appeal.

In all, Waterhawk Lake Club is more than just a restaurant—it’s a lakeside retreat where fresh, thoughtfully prepared food meets warm, personalized service in a captivating natural setting. Whether you’re seeking a casual lunch, a festive celebration, or a relaxed evening with creative cocktails (don’t miss the famed 'Lakation'), this spot delivers a memorable culinary experience that feels like a true local gem. Expect to leave here feeling refreshed, well-fed, and eager to return for another lakeside escape.

Great place to relax and enjoy. Food was overall good. Drinks were great, and when I had one that I did not like the staff were accommodating & switched my beverage choice. Great for pets and large parties. Staff very friendly & attentive. Great view of the lake, both indoor & outdoor seating. Look forward to going back!

Made reservations so got seating right away. Fortunately, got the side of the shaded table. Others who got seated after us, near us was too sunny so they moved. They had live music. The ducks were quacking ever so cutely. Food was good. Loaded fries were good, spicy. Server was nice. Place was busy outdoors, no one sat inside even it’s pretty nice indoors too. Parking took a lil while but ppl come and go so just have to wait. Wish there were more dessert options.

Ok I’m really puzzled by the negative reviews. We used to come here fairly regularly when it was Bear Republic and this is definitely a step up. Lovely wood tables outside (inside is nice too), plenty of shade, amazing service and delicious food—soft shell crab BLT, burger and grilled summer peppers as an appetizer. Didn’t try any cocktails but they look fun and yummy. A three piece band was playing nice background music, a mix of classics and originals. Ignore the haters! We’ll be back!

Definitely can tell this place is related to Brewsters in Petaluma. Visited Dec 1st, and they, like Brewsters, go hog wild on the Xmas decorations. Slightly different food and beer and drink offerings, but along the same lines. Huge place really, and nice to be on the “lake”. Brewster’s has a more intimate feel whereas Waterhawk has the more laidback feel. I had the loaded fries, which were solid, and slice of their mushroom/arugula pizza. I appreciate how their pizzas aren’t the standard fare you’d get anywhere else. The loaded fries have a kick to them, so heads up.

Had 16 people for Birthday brunch. Waitress handled us easily filling all requests. Food was excellent except my little gem salad. Bland, overdressed, and every leaf end was brown, should have been trimmed. Sitting out on the deck was great!

Location by the lake is excellent, although could use a bit more shade. Our server, Anthony, was a pro. Very attentive and polite, and clearly wanted to genuinely make sure we were enjoying our time. While the food isn’t perfect (a touch more seasoning here and there), it’s still plenty delicious. This is a perfect place to grab a nice drink and have some good food along with it. We’ll be back!

Really great new restaurant and bar. It feels like a vacation on the lake. Creative and delicious cocktails for $12. Try the Lakation! Service a bit uneven but the ambiance with music more than makes up for it. Food was good especially the burrata with peaches.
